Summary:
Off the grid on a mission gone awry, the first thing Clint knows of the downfall of SHIELD is when his rescuer, James, hands over a newspaper article. James knows way more about Clint than he should, but Clint recognises the way James seems like he's running from something, and anyway, it's not like he's got a better bet for getting out of the country. So that's what his life has come to: fleeing the country in a train car, sleeping with an ex-brainwashed assassin - and then Natasha and Steve show up.

I saw your post in August about getting a Kindle... I recently bought a Samsung Tab 3, which I hope to use to read on the subway. At least it'll let me save webpages so I can read where there's no wifi. :D

And hi back! How's life and everything? I just started a new job a couple of weeks ago, so I'm hoping I'll have a bit more time once it settles down.

Congrats on the new job! What's this new job about? Do you like it so far? I'm now articling with two family law lawyers and they keep me hopping. I haven't had time for fic writing in a long while.
(I accept that my thing about Bucky is a bit hypocritical, given that I ship plenty of white guys, but I've been frustrated that Bucky and Coulson were resurrected while women and POC characters weren't. :P )

My new job is an analyst for Ofsted (the schools' inspection organisation); I'm not quite sure yet whether I'll like it - I'm having a hard time getting a sense of what I'll be doing - but my team are lovely, so that helps!

I can understand that. I was kind of worried that either Maria Hill or Sam Wilson wouldn't make it to the end of Winter Soldier (especially once Fury wasn't dead!), but I've only seen that movie and the Avengers, so I don't actually know a lot of the other non-Avenger characters or what happens to them, other than by fandom osmosis.

People keep telling me that all jobs get a bit repetitive, so make sure you like the people around you! I'm glad you're enjoying your coworkers. The people in my office are pretty nice but we're only friendly, not friends. At my previous job, we were all students and hung out together at school. I kinda miss that atmosphere...
I went into CA:TWS spoiled, so I wasn't too worried about Sam or Maria, but I'm annoyed by what happened to Jasper Sitwell (whom I'm convinced was a triple agent and is recuperating from being thrown from a car in one of Fury's safe houses). Ah well, it's an old rant and I don't want to bore you. ;)
